Director of God of War Ragnarok wants to work at Castlevania franchise games

God of War Ragnarök has just been released and production manager Eric Williams seems to have big ambitions, including to take on a well-known franchise from the games world: Castlemaine.

Launched on November 9, Sony's new exclusive seems to be seducing players with their exceptional scenarios and exciting plot around Nordic mythology, and the numbers prove it. On Twitch, the production exploded the platform scores with no less than 478,000 simultaneous viewers that accompanied Rates and Atreus in their new adventures. These monumental numbers make the title the second-largest release of a PlayStation title on Twitch, behind only The Last of Us: Part 2, which gathered no less than 508,000 simultaneous viewers.

Do you remember Castlemaine?

Here is a name that may sound familiar to you. In 1986 that the first work of the INAMI franchise was released. The Aventura action productions with horror tones have enchanted many players... including Eric Williams.

But while the franchise came out of the spotlight over time, in a podcast called PS I Love You Too, the director of God of War Ragnarök said he would love to work with the franchise.

Do you want to be known as God of War's guy for the rest of his life?

Although Santa Monica Studios has revealed that he is working on all projects at the same time, Eric Williams would like him to work on God of War's productions until his retirement. Although direction changes are a tradition for the studio's various franchises, Williams seems very attached to Rates and intends to work on continuing his adventures.

Will he be able to work in Castlemaine? Anyway, the teams of Santa Monica Studios seem to have their heads full of ideas and ready to perform their bold ambitions.

It remains to be seen whether INAMI will respond to the community's appeal to sell or at least share one of its main franchises with Williams. AND

Last October, VGC teams reported that INAMI planned to revive Castlemaine in the coming years, along with Silent Hill. We had the official announcement of several new franchise games, as well as a movie. Castlemaine is not unlikely to follow the same line.
